China Camp 2007:  Ni Hao from China Camp! We had an awesome week!  The campers made new friends and reconnected with friends from last year.  The kindergarten through 5th graders learned a fan routine, that really “WOWed” the audience during Parade of Nations.  The 6th graders once again learned the Lion Dance, and did a great job!  Some of our highlights from the week include:

·         Kindergarten: making yummy ice cream and learning about pandas

·         1st grade: painting sparkly fireworks pictures, and for the first time we had 3 first grade classrooms!

·         2nd grade:  beautiful Chinese paintings on t-shirts.

·         3rd grade:  Monkey King sand art and creative parasol painting.

·         4th grade:  Cooking, cooking, cooking!  We enjoyed the use of the teaching kitchen, and learned many new recipes.

·         5th grade:  Beautiful painted hats, each with a very unique design, and the dragon boats.

·         6th grade:  Learning all about Chinese masks, then each camper created their own design…very “cool”!

The week was gone in a blink, but oh so much fun!  We can’t wait to do it again next year!
