Who:
Heritage Camp is open to children and families who registered for this year's Camp. If you signed up and received a confirmation letter in the mail, we're looking forward to seeing you! If you missed this year's deadline, we hope to see you next year. Registration is typically open during the month of March each year.
Welcome Table:
New families, or anyone with questions, should stop by first thing Tuesday. Look for the table near the front entrance.
Medication Administration:
Due to restriction from our liability policy, camp personnel cannot administer any medications, prescription or over the counter. If your child needs to have a medication administered during camp hours, a parent or guardian must administer it.
Medical Bracelets:
If you have indicated that your child has a special allergy or medical condition, we ask that you sign your child in at the medical bracelet table. Parents are asked to initial the list each day indicating that they have picked up the bracelet and put it on their child. If your child is on medication, please fill out the medical form on the first day of camp and give it to their classroom teacher. Forms will be available in command central.
Volunteer Clearances:
If you did not register as an adult volunteer, and fill out a clearance form, and clear the State of Michigan’s clearance process, you are not allowed to be in a classroom due to our liability insurance requirement. T-shirts will only be distributed to cleared volunteers! If you have any questions regarding your status, please contact Elaine Lohroff or Jessica Lyons for more details.
What to Bring:
We ask that you send a water bottle with your child’s name on it so that they can use it throughout the day and week. We also recommend that you send a light jacket or sweatshirt. Because the kids will be participating in international games, classroom activities and recess, we ask that all kids wear tennis shoes/running shoes. Please do not allow your child to bring any electronic devices such as cell phones, ipods, ipads or gaming devices. Kelloggsville Public Schools and FFIC are not responsible for any missing or damaged electronic devices. If your child needs to bring a cell phone, we request that it be turned off during the scheduled camp day and used only when needed.
Lunch Menu:
* Tuesday: Eastern European Cuisine
* Wednesday: Ethiopian Cuisine
* Thursday: Latin American Cuisine
* Friday: Asian Cuisine
Many campers and volunteers look forward to these delicious meals each year, but if you have a picky eater or a child with dietary restrictions or preferences, you are welcome to send a sack lunch from home for any/all days of camp.
Parent Resource Room:
Parents, grandparents, and parent volunteers are welcome!
* A place to gather with other families
* Coffee and water available every day beginning at 9:00am
* Adoption-related materials and brochures displayed in the marketplace
* Pre-campers welcome, but need to be supervised
The parent resource room is a place to buy and sell used ethnic clothing and books. To participate, please follow these guidelines:
Sellers: Write the country, size, and price of the article on the front of an envelope. Include your name and phone number. Attach the envelope to the item. Please label and price each item separately.
Buyers: Contact the seller via the information on the envelope to complete the transaction. Or, write a check (no cash sales) to the seller, write your name on the envelope and leave the envelope in the box located near the items that are for sale.
